Spartan Linguistics & Consulting Services, LLC began with the simple concept of meeting a neglected need. Ms. Najat Rozh served as a civilian linguist with elements of the United States Army in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She noted a tremendous shortage of linguists and cultural advisors. Ms. Rozh began the formulation of the concept that would later become Spartan Linguistics & Consulting Services, LLC.

With a persevering and intense yet kind and gentle spirit, she returned to the United States in late 2007. She started laying the foundation for the birth of the company only two days after she returned. The name “Spartan” was chosen out of respect for the “Warrior Advisors”, which defines what Spartans were. The trademark symbol of the globe shows the extent of the need and the realm of the service. On March 5, 2008, Spartan Linguistics & Consulting Services, LLC was officially born.

Several people have been instrumental in business development. The Small Business Administration SCORE (Susan Phalen & Bob Ashfield) provided marketing assistance. Colonel Randall Espinosa (FACS) provided advice and encouragement. R.G. “Rick” Yates, Ph.D. assisted in professional writing. Bobby Daniel helped wherever help was needed. Carroll Do provided advice for networking in Houston. Dr. Linda Parker was always available for any assistance. Ms. Rozh’s family has supported her physically, emotionally, and financially.

Under Ms. Rozh’s leadership, Spartan Linguistics & Consulting Services, LLC has amassed more than 300 contract linguists, most with a minimum of 10 years linguistic experience, who speak, read, and write Arabic, Kurdish, Urdu, Farsi, Pashtu, Chinese, Spanish, and other languages and dialects.
