Ms. Alkadhi’s life work in the cultural and translation aspects of multinational affairs is reflected by her experience and education. She holds a Master’s in Agriculture earned in the Czech Republic, completed an intensive course for English as a Second Language and a similar course for French as a Second Language, and earned a certificate for Interpreting in Health and Community Settings from the NVAHEC Medical Interpreting Program. Ms. Alkadhi experience includes helping immigrant women understand and adjust to health, settlement, language, and cultural issues. She speaks, English, Arabic, French, and Czech fluently.
Ms. Alkadhi taught English as a Second Language for the London Language Center and used technology in the form of computerized instruction to enable non-English speaking persons to learn passable English. She also served as an interpreter with the Canadian Immigration Center. Ms. Alkadhi managed Alkadhi Translation and Interpretation Services, which specialized in English-Arabic translation and interpretation. At the request of the Coalition Feminine des Afro-Franco-phones Community Center, she taught English to French-speaking Haitian women. In Virginia, Ms. Alkadhi has served as a freelance teacher and interpreter for Arabic and, more recently, has been evaluating the language proficiency test for Arabic speaking interpreters. Previously, she provided Arabic-English translation, editing, and proofreading services for ASET International Services Corporation as a Freelance Interpreter.
