As a criminal justice attorney, Yaaqub has pursued a broad spectrum of criminal law, civil law, investigation, trade law, labor law, private law, common international law, and scientific fields including mathematics and statistics. With degrees in both Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics and also Law, Yaaqub believes the logic behind his mathematics and scientific interests have enabled him to better address human issues as they relate to the legal and political professions, as well as trade unions, and media.

Yaaqub speaks five languages fluently and serves as a cultural and media advisor, when appropriate. He has been an influential member of both Kurdish and Iraqi Administrations and also teachers’ and journalists’ unions. Yaaqub has extensive contacts through-out the region and can facilitate communication and negotiation in business, politics, and investment.
